Bingo Battle Status Update - 7/16/2024

Bingo Battle production has been going well. The main update I wanna explain is cutting the mall in half.

I added these walls to indicate a barrier for the mall for a future expansion (possibly). I think the current layout allows for around 20 to 30 different stores each with their own wares and objectives. It took several hours to complete most of the rooms, walls, and even escalators for the two floors of the mall. And that's only for grayboxing.

This current layout is spread to the front 2 quadrants. The back quadrants I will finish after I get the level polished up. So I detailed the left side a bit more to the right due to it being more dense and also including employee access. The right side is gonna include the race track and arcade. On the upper right quadrant that is accessible, there is going to be a food court for players to deliver food as an objective. I am unsure what to do on the top left quadrant, but it will probably include the remaining storefronts.

Lastly, I have started to model some signs. The current modeling system in UEFN is very janky and you are forced to model in real time, making simple things like cuts and welds take much longer than a program like 3DS Max. The easiest thing I can do is add simple shapes and texture them with emissive and flat materials.

That is the current progress so far. I am a bit behind schedule due to several events over the weekend, but I should be done with the graybox and signs by next week.
